This page is a collection of the venues, businesses and locations in Stowe and the surrounding towns that I personally recommend.
I love watching sports as much as I love playing them. Put me in the stands for a Pee Wee hockey game or a little league baseball game and I am in heaven. Our local high schools regularly showcase some of the best athletes in the state. Among the varsity sports that you can enjoy are Soccer, Ice Hockey, Basketball, Lacrosse, Field Hockey, Baseball, Softball, Track and Field, Cross Country and Downhill Skiing/Riding and Tennis.
The University of Vermont in Burlington competes in Men's and Women's Division 1 Ice Hockey, Basketball, Soccer, Lacrosse and Cross Country and Downhill Skiing. Over the years we have had the privilege of watching amazing athletes compete at UVM including eventual NHL stars like John LeClair, Patrick Sharp and Aaron Miller and Stanley Cup winners Martin St Louis and Tim Thomas.
For Minor League Baseball we have the Vermont Lake Monsters a Single A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics at Centennial Field in Burlington.
One my favorite things to do on a hot summer's night is to go to a Vermont Mountaineers baseball game in Montpelier and sit in the 1930's era grandstands to watch the best of Division 1 college players from around the country play in this wooden bat summer league.
