Here's to Hoops

Homes are about people, and that’s what Coldwell Banker is all about as well.

There’s a recurring theme in real estate from the media and our competitors about how easily replaceable real estate agents are, so it is with great pride that we introduce to you our newest advertising campaign. This is an ad that speaks to Coldwell Banker's love and dedication to people and home since 1906, a commercial that speaks to our agents’ ability to “read the situation” and show the unmistakable, irreplaceable power of human touch.

Here is our new commercial that we call “Hoops” that is airing this year during the tournament.

Epic Pass Deals Announced

Vail Resorts announced today that the Epic Pass plans to offer unlimited, unrestricted access to Stowe Mountain Resort for the 2017-2018 winter season, subject to the closing of the acquisition. Vail and Stowe announced in February that Vail would buy Stowe's ski operations for $50 million. Current owner AIG will retain the Spruce Peak real estate, lodging and related facilities.

The Epic Pass, Vail's signature season pass program offers unrestricted access to skiing at all Vail properties worldwide at much lower rates than most resorts charge. The unrestricted season pass at Stowe Mountain Resort was $2,313 for the 2016-2017 ski year; with the Epic Pass the same access will cost $859 for 2017-2018.

The Epic program offers additional pass options with varying levels of access, some for as little as $639. There is an early deadline of Sunday 4/9/2017 to purchase some passes but it appears that the core program, The Epic Pass will be available all year.

Additional details are available in this week's VermontBiz and on the Epic Pass site.

Lamoille County Is A Hotbed For Youth Soccer

Budding Lamoille County Youth Soccer Player. Jeff Beattie photo.

Lamoille County is a hotbed for youth soccer and here is the evidence. Since the turn of the century there has only been one year (2001) where there was not at least one Lamoille County high school soccer team in the state finals. And in all those remaining years, only one year when at least one Lamoille team did not win the state championship (in 2005 the P.A. girls lost 2-1 to Northfield).

  • This year the Stowe boys and P.A. (People's Academy in Morrisville) girls won the state championships
  • In 2011 the P.A. boys and girls won the states
  • In 2010 it was the Stowe girls
  • In 2009 the Stowe boys and P.A. girls both brought the trophy home
  • In 2008 the Stowe boys beat the P.A. boys for the title and the P.A. girls won as well
  • In 2007 it was Stowe over the P.A. boys
  • In 2006 the P.A. girls won it all
  • In 2004 and 2003 the Lamoille girls won the state championships
  • In 2002 the P.A. boy beat Stowe as well as winning it all in 2000

That adds up to 15 state championships out of 19 appearances for the three Lamoille County high schools and an "all Lamoille County" championship game in three  of the seasons all since 2000.

Why?  The answer is simple, Lamoille County's youth soccer programs are fantastic. These programs are well conceived and well run. They were founded by people that not only understand soccer, but also understand the importance of how to properly foster and develop soccer skills, good sportsmanship and a life long love of the game in young people.

Congratulations to this year's high school soccer state champions the Stowe boys and the People's Academy girls.
