The foliage in Vermont is fantastic right now. If you are not in Vermont as you read this post, you need to get out of your chair and make plans to get up here this weekend or next. The colors are more vibrant this year than they have been in the last couple of years and we haven't even reached the peak!
I think this is the best time (just prior to peak) when there is still a full range of colors from dark greens all the way to reds, oranges and "screaming pinks". Anyone with a camera can take pictures and look like a pro. My favorite activity this time of year is to get out on a lake and enjoy all the colors as their reflections cover the water and all the better when on a Vermont September/October blue sky day. There are also more fall festivals and farmer's markets going on right now than you can imagine
So, catch a plane, take a train (Amtrak will get you here and a train ride is the best way to see the fall colors) or take a slow car ride up Route 100 and get here before it's too late. Life is too short and the leaves are falling in Vermont.
